Marker dedicated on 50th anniversary to the date of B-1’s official induction into the U.S. Navy, at Raleigh.

The NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources placed the marker at the top of Roberson Street where it meets Franklin Street on the western edge of Chapel Hill. B-1 marched up Roberson Street, from its quarters in the newly constructed community center, in daily parades to the UNC campus that were big events in the neighborhood to youngsters like Doug and John Clark.
